The Last of Us! New Sony Exclusive by Naughty Dog!

Alright, this Christmas stuff surprisingly didn't work out. Too much gaming news has interfered, and I'm just a bit too busy with everything else. I'll still try to post more often than I have in the past, and get that Skyrim review up shortly. BUT! I have amazing news! The Last of Us has finally been officially announced and we have OUTSTANDING details.

Debuting at the VGA's, the Last of Us is now confirmed as a new Sony exclusive in development by Naughty Dog, the studio responsible for the Uncharted series. This has me utterly excited, considering they are the creators of my favorite franchise on the PS3, as well as one of my older favorites, Crash Bandicoot. I'm not a huge fan of scary games, and I'll admit, the zombie genre is getting a bit old, but Naughty Dog delivers on a much more meaningful level, and I think that's just what the zombie genre needs.

Now, we don't actually know that these are zombies. Due to a viral marketing campaign, viewable on lastofus.com, we learned a bit about the virus that actually has real-world applications. It stems from a certain species of ant, which ingest a certain spore that causes their brains to become something inexplicable, and monstrous. The creatures seen in the trailer, which is at the bottom of this page, and humanoid, but very mutated. It seems as if the world has existed in this state for quite a while, with the voice over indicating that fact.

I'm highly anticipating this title, as well as any more information on it at all. We've been teased about 2 great games, the other being Grand Theft Auto V, and hopefully both will be out next year, but its tough to say. Keep checking back for more information as it's released.
